Sean grew up in a progressive family rooted in community involvement, sustainable living, and political activism. Having traveled extensively during his youth in Great Britain, Europe, the Mediterranean Islands and North America, he became aware of environmentally sustainable practices. A summer in Ireland introduced him to biofuels, a winter in Northern Europe showed him practical ways to conserve energy, and a trip along the Turkish western coast taught him about conserving natural resources. These travels, coupled with a love of the outdoors, inspired him to continue learning and working for environmental change. Sean attended Creighton University and majored in Philosophy with an emphases in Environmental Ethics, the Philosophy of Science, and Economics.
